Richard Strauss short biography

A great conductor and composer, Richard Strauss created a new form and style of symphonic tone-poem. After 1900, Strauss received worldwide recognition with his operas, often at a grand scale. Later in his compositions, Strauss used a more classical approach. Strauss’s association with the Nazi Germany forced him to move to Switzerland. Strauss came back to him native Bavaria a few months before his death.
