Henri Schradieck short biography
Henri Schradieck’s first teacher was his father. Schradieck made his highly acclaimed recital debut at the age of five. In 1854, Schradieck became a student of the Brussels Conservatory and soon won the premier prix in violin performance. Schradieck also was a student of Ferdinand David in Leipzig. In 1859, Schradieck assumed the position of violin professor at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1862, Schradieck was appointed concertmaster of the Hamburg Philharmonic Society Orchestra. In 1883, Schradieck assumed professorship at the Cincinnati College of Music. Schradieck’s methods are widely used by the modern violinists.
