Charles de Beriot short biography

A student of Viotti, Beriot became one of the most distinguished artists of his time, the creator of the Franco-Belgian school of violin-playing that was so important in the 19th century. Beriot lived and worked in Brussels.  Beriot's ten Violin Concertos are known to most violinsts, both as the practice methods and in the concert hall. The Military Concerto by Beriot, is especially importants as are his popular Spanische Weisen for duo violin.
